Fashion Powerhouse Valérie Leberichel Takes the Helm as Chloé’s New CMO

    Vogue France

Chloé has officially named Valérie Leberichel as its new Chief Marketing Officer, a strategic move that signals a new chapter for the Parisian fashion house. Effective June 1, Leberichel will join the executive team, reporting directly to Chloé CEO Laurent Malecaze. This appointment arrives as the brand undergoes a significant revitalization under the creative leadership of Chemena Kamali, who has been credited with restoring the house’s signature “sunny” and bohemian spirit since her arrival in late 2023.

A Proven Track Record in Global Luxury Communications

Leberichel joins Chloé with an extensive pedigree in the high-fashion sector. She most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Gucci in Milan, a role that placed her at the center of one of the industry’s largest luxury powerhouses. Prior to her time at Gucci, she held the position of Global Vice President of Communications at Givenchy, where she worked in close alignment with then-creative director Matthew M. Williams.

A French national with deep roots in the industry, Leberichel’s career began in public relations at Jean Louis Scherrer and later as the communications director for Issey Miyake Europe. Her career trajectory includes a formidable decade-long tenure at Celine starting in 2002. In 2013, she transitioned to the Prada Group, taking on the role of Worldwide Communications and External Relations Director for Miu Miu. By 2019, her responsibilities expanded to overseeing global communications for Miu Miu while simultaneously leading communications for Prada France.

Strategic Growth Within the Richemont Portfolio

The appointment of such a seasoned marketing executive comes at a pivotal moment for Chloé’s parent company, the Swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont. The group, which owns prestigious names like Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, recently reported a 13 percent sales increase in the fourth quarter. Richemont’s trading statements specifically highlighted a robust performance in the ready-to-wear sector, with Chloé, Alaïa, and Peter Millar driving significant growth.

On the runway, the brand’s momentum is equally strong. For the Fall 2026 collection, Chemena Kamali leaned into Chloé’s heritage archetypes, modernizing the brand’s aesthetic with peach-toned blouses, bib-fronted dresses, and fluid outerwear like capes and ponchos. This creative direction has resonated with both critics and consumers, setting a fertile ground for Leberichel to implement new marketing and communication strategies.

By bringing Leberichel on board, Chloé is aligning its executive marketing expertise with its refreshed creative vision. Her deep understanding of brand storytelling and global market dynamics will be essential as the house seeks to further capitalize on its current upward trajectory and strengthen its position as a leading voice in luxury fashion.

    Summary of Chloé’s Executive Evolution

Valérie Leberichel’s transition to Chloé represents a calculated effort to solidify the brand’s market presence through experienced leadership. By bridging the gap between Chemena Kamali’s successful aesthetic pivot and Richemont’s strong financial performance, Leberichel is poised to amplify the Chloé narrative on a global scale. This hire reflects a broader trend of luxury houses seeking veteran communicators to navigate a rapidly evolving retail landscape while maintaining the core heritage of the “Chloé girl.”
