In the modern era, audience attention has become the most valuable resource. Social media users now need to understand consumer psychology, be able to work with data, follow trends, and create content that inspires trust and ultimately fosters long-term relationships between companies and consumers. Marketer and entrepreneur Anastasia Kupriyanova builds her work at the intersection of analytics, creativity, and strategic thinking. A graduate of New York University, founder of her own marketing agency, Social Fusion Studio, and a participant in projects for Porsche and the United Nations, she has managed to transform years of international experience into an effective brand development system. In this interview, she will share details of her work.
Anastasia, your professional path spans several countries, international organizations, and your own projects. What was the basis for this development?
I think the main factor was my constant desire to learn and to look at marketing beyond just advertising and promotion. I’ve always been interested in why people make certain decisions, how brand trust is formed, and how digital communication influences audience behavior. Every project I’ve ever undertaken, from my own clothing brand to working with international organizations, has helped me find answers to these questions and turn them into practical solutions.
Many professionals work with social media. What makes your approach unique?
I view social media as a complete ecosystem of interaction between a brand and a person. Many companies focus solely on the number of followers or views. For me, the quality of communication, the level of audience trust, and the brand’s ability to build long-term relationships with its customers are much more important. Therefore, I always work with analytics, conduct audience research, and seek creative solutions.
You founded Social Fusion Studio. How did you come to this decision?
I noticed that many small businesses had excellent products and services but lacked access to the high-quality marketing methods typically available to large corporations. I wanted to create a studio that would help small brands achieve professional-level digital marketing and content strategy. Today, we help businesses build awareness, trust, and growth.
I understand you were involved in a project for Porsche. What did you gain from that experience?
This was an opportunity to work on a real-world business challenge at an international level. We analyzed consumer behavior, researched the market, and developed marketing solutions to attract new audiences. This experience allowed me to approach strategic planning differently. I learned to consider not only current market needs but also anticipate future changes in consumer behavior.
Anastasia, you also worked with the United Nations. What challenges did you address there?
One of the main tasks was developing and maintaining the organization’s digital communications. I was responsible for creating content, analyzing publication performance, and preparing reports across various platforms. This work demonstrated the importance of combining high-quality content with an understanding of analytics. This allows decisions to be made based on objective data rather than assumptions.
Let’s talk about your AWVA Design project. It was dedicated to sustainable fashion. Why was this topic important to you?
I’ve always been interested in responsible consumption. The fashion industry faces a huge number of environmental challenges. I wanted to demonstrate that a brand can communicate these values. Working on this project taught me how to build communities around ideas and create an emotional connection between a company and its audience.
Many of your colleagues call you a next-generation specialist. How do you see the future of marketing?
The future belongs to specialists who can combine technology and human understanding. Artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics are becoming powerful tools, but they don’t replace the ability to engage with people’s emotions. The most successful marketers will be those who can leverage technology to create more human and personalized communications.
What contribution to your clients’ business development do you consider most significant?
For me, it’s not just about increasing social media metrics. The key result is that companies begin to better understand their customers and build more effective communications. If, after working with us, a business owner notices their brand becoming recognizable, gaining a loyal audience, and achieving real commercial results, that’s the most valuable contribution.
Can you give an example of how your work changed a client’s situation?
When small business owners approach me, they often already have a strong product but virtually no digital presence. In these cases, I begin with an analysis of the brand, competitive landscape, and audience behavior. Then, I develop a strategy that includes a visual concept, content plan, platform selection, and a performance analysis system. My approach allows businesses to transition from mindless social media management to meticulous work, where every element is aimed at building customer trust and brand development.
While studying at New York University, you developed a marketing strategy for Taiwan Semiconductor. What do you remember about that project?
This was one of the most challenging projects in my academic career. We analyzed the global semiconductor shortage and the industry’s environmental challenges. I managed to combine market research, new product development, target audience profiling, and promotion strategy into a single marketing concept. This experience demonstrated the importance of seeing the entire business ecosystem.
You also conducted strategic analysis at Amazon. Tell us more about that.
We conducted a comprehensive analysis of the global e-commerce market, assessing the competitive landscape and the company’s future growth prospects. Using strategic analysis tools allowed us to identify areas that could support the development of even the largest international corporations. This experience taught me how to make decisions with a long-term perspective.
Over the course of your career, you’ve worked with public figures from various fields. How is working with such clients different?
Working with celebrities always requires a higher level of preparation. They pay close attention to their public image, so any marketing decision must take into account the specifics of their personal brand. It’s crucial to maintain a balance between the individual’s personality and the project’s objectives, as audiences are quick to detect insincerity.
How much does international experience help you in such projects?
It’s incredibly helpful. I’ve worked with people from different countries and cultures, so I understand how audience expectations, communication styles, and even perceptions of visual content can vary greatly. This experience has taught me how to quickly adapt to different cultural contexts and structure my work so that everyone involved feels comfortable.
Obviously, working with influential people requires a high level of trust. How do you build it?
Client trust develops when they feel they are listened to attentively and fully engaged in their needs. I strive to understand the goals of each project and offer solutions that reflect the client’s values. Over time, this format of interaction becomes the foundation of long-term partnerships.
In addition to developing marketing strategies, you personally organize photo and video shoots for brands. Why is it important for you to be involved in this process?
Filming is an extension of the marketing strategy. Any photograph or video must fill a gap, whether it’s building brand trust, increasing brand awareness, or creating a specific emotional response. Therefore, I participate in concept development, team selection, location selection, script creation, and oversee the entire content production process. I believe my involvement ensures that visual materials align with the company’s overall communications strategy. On set, I often have to integrate the work of photographers, videographers, models, brand representatives, and other project participants, so organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to envision the end result before filming begins are essential.
What distinguishes an outstanding specialist from just a good professional?
A great professional never stops learning. The world is changing too quickly, especially in the digital environment. It’s important to constantly explore new technologies, analyze trends, and be ready to adapt. But at the same time, one mustn’t lose the ability to see the people behind the numbers. It’s this combination of analytics and empathy that enables the creation of truly powerful solutions.
What would you like to create in the future?
I’m interested in developing projects that intersect with marketing, technology, and education. I see great potential in creating solutions that help entrepreneurs better understand their audiences and use digital tools most effectively. The more people can realize their ideas through effective communication, the more positive changes will occur in business and society.
It’s always a pleasure to engage with a true professional! Anastasia, we wish you prosperity in all your endeavors!
Thank you for your good wishes.
